My Perfume Collection

Hello there lovelies. I thought I'd share with you my perfume collection today and let you know what my favourite perfumes are.

So without further ado lets jump into it!

Perfumes from L-R: CK/In 2 U, Taylor Swift/Wonderstruck, Stella McCartney/Stella,
Elie Saab/Le Parfum, Marc Jacobs/Daisy, Juicy Couture/Peace, Love & Juicy,
Britney Spears/Fantasy, Vera Wang/Lovestruck, Christian Lacroix/C'est La Fete.

In total I have nine perfumes (a little small compared to some beauty bloggers/vloggers). It's not many, but it's enough for me. I don't have the space in my room to hold any more (well I do, but I like displaying them as they are all soooooo pretty) and quite frankly I don't even use half of them. When I see/smell a fragrance that I love I will constantly wear that perfume until the bottle is empty or I find a new one that I like (therefore resulting in a never ending circle). With the exception of one:

Christian Lacroix/C'est La Fete

I didn't buy this perfume (It was a gift from a friend for my 16th birthday). It's always a tricky one when your friend buys you a perfume as they don't really know what scent's you like. I think we went to Alton Towers the day she gave me this and I wished that I opened it at home on my own! Instead I tore the wrapping paper off in the car, said a massive thank you (along with an awkward hug in the car with the seatbelt's on) and thoroughly spritzed it all over myself! It's not a fragrance I would recommend (but then everyone's opinions are different) and I think the only reason why I have kept it is because of the amazing bottle. I don't really know why I love it as much as I do! Maybe i'm just weird.

Now onto my Top 4 Favourite Perfumes:

1. CKin2u Her
'Ckin2u her speaks to a new generation that is emboldened sexually and is freed by technology to connect anywhere at any time, the 'no commitment' generation.'
'spontaneous. sexy. connected. ckin2u is the scent for those living in the now'.

Top notes; redcurrant leaves, sicilian bergamot and pink grapefruit fizz
Heart notes; burst of sugar orchid and white cactus
Base notes; warm combination of red cedar, neon amber and vanilla soufflé

This was the first fragrance I ever owned and I am pretty sure this is my 3rd bottle! For me it is not a very sexy scent but a more casual one?! (I'm not good at describing perfumes) I normally pick this one up in the spring as (for me) it's a nice transition fragrance from winter to spring, and gets me in the mood for summer.
If any of you received the 'Noble Isle Summer Rising Bath & Shower Gel' in May from GLOSSYBOX (and liked it). Then this may be the perfume for you as it me it has the same smell.

                                                    CKin2u Her RRP £23.75 (150ml)

2. Taylor Swift Wonderstruck
'Taylor's personal life experiences inspired this fragrance. Just like her creative approach to songwriting, every element is authentic, embracing all that is special about Taylor.

Wonderstruck is an awe-inspiring feeling. It could be a connection with someone or a rush you get when you experience something magical. Wonderstruck is also a lyric in the song "Enchanted" on Taylor's album, Speak Now.

In this fragrance, a charming and sparkling surprise of vibrant fruits kisses a bouquet of soft petals and a touch of sweet indulgence.

A perfectly charmed deep purple bottle holds this enchanting fragrance. The iridescent rainbow finish, never before used in the fragrance industry, gives the bottle a magical glow. The Moravian star, dove, and birdcage charms that adorn the bottle were hand-picked by Taylor to evoke her unique style and whimsical flair.'

Notes; Freesia, Green Tea, Apple Blossom, Raspberry, Dewberry.

This is my most recent perfume. I picked it up when I was on holiday in New York in June (as we didn't have it here in the UK - However it has recently been launched over here so if you're interested buy it now!) So it hasn't been in my collection long - and it's already one of my favourites!
It does slightly remind me of the Britney Spears perfume (but better) and is definitely a girly, strong and floral perfume. It doesn't have a great staying power (seeing as it is an 'Eau De Parfum' perfume) and only lasts for about 2 hours on me before I have to spray again! However the bottle is simply gorgeous, cute and enchanting itself.

On a side note in September Taylor is releasing another fragrance 'Wonderstruck Enchanted' (in the US unfortunately - so it'll take another year to arrive in the UK). I don't know what it is going to smell like but I can tell you one thing! The bottle is again a beautiful design - in red - and I simply cannot wait!

3. Stella McCartney Stella
'The first fragrance by Stella McCartney, inspired by the fragile beauty of a rose, is contrasted by sensuality of amber. Playing with the opposition of the masculine and the feminine as well, the bottle’s lines, both precious and sharp, frame a seemingly infinite plum dégradé.'

I purchased Stella on a whim, and I am really really really glad I did! Not only is the bottle simply stunning (unfortunately it was a limited edition design) but the smell makes me feel all grown up and professional. I normally wear this in the Summer and Autumn months (I try not to use it too much as I love the bottle too much). This seems to make an appearance in most beauty bloggers summer fragrance picks (therefore highly recommended). It's more of a light and subtle fragrance with fresh floral notes. In addition it's in a nice little dinky bottle which makes it easy to thrown in your bag and travel around (plus it's sturdy too so no leaking/breaking).

4. Elie Saab Le Parfum
    'Radiant, voluptuous, addictive'

'The top note opens on a sun-kissed, radiant orange blossom, as an ode to light.'

'The middle note develops into a jasmine absolute, a legendary flower in perfumery, imparting voluptuousness and elegance to the fragrance. It combines with a pure, modern patchouli heart.'

'The base note unfolds into a cedar woody accord adding character and a lingering trail, while the honey rose envelops the composition in a beautifully addictive note...'

This is undoubtably my FAVOURITE perfume of all time. It is such a stunning scent! I purchased this when there was a big beauty blogger hype surrounding this perfume, with everyone raving about it! I can honestly say that I agree with the hype. I know a few people were disappointed with this perfume (after all the hype people were buying it without smelling it first) but I can honestly see no fault with it!

What's your favourite fragrance? Any of mine take your fancy?

My Purse

I thought I'd share a review of my purse today.

Now I've had it for about a year, when I bought it last year at John Lewis when they had their Price Match around Christmas time (I think). It is 100% the best purse I have ever owned.

This purse is priced at £75 (although I paid about £50 for it) and I can honestly say I would have paid the FULL Price for it! (Normally a purse only lasts about a year for me yet this one Is still going strong!) In addition it is a leather purse so that (kind of) justifies the price (for me anyway).

The exact name of my purse Is the:

Please excuse the grubby finger marks!
Ted says, "the more you give the more you get". (I <3 the little quote inside)

This is what John Lewis & Ted Baker have to say about my purse:
"With its understated appearance, the Ted Baker Kassady Bobble purse is an all time classic. Its patent high shine appearance gives it an elegant finish that is trendy and timeless making it suitable all year round."
(My purse has a light pink leather detail inside and a flower pattern whereas John Lewis stock the same purse but with a cream leather inside with a dog(?)pattern)

The purse has a lot of room on the inside:

12 Card Slots
2 Compartments where you can lay your money flat ( i <3)
A Bobble Clasp Closure with 2 compartments to put your change (I use one side for coppers and the other for £1s or silver coins - Im sad I know!)
1 Hidden (ish) slot (where I just stuff random crap)
Finally (I said there was a lot of room) 1 zip pocket at the back (I put my boarding passes here and secret stuff)

I don't really know why I chose it in Black. (I think I thought that if I got it in Black then it would go with every bag/outfit I had). I'm not sure why I thought that, but I still love it! Plus it does indeed got with everything I own!

There is a little wear on my purse after a year (but that's only in a few select places) and nothing has ripped or fallen off.

I would highly recommend investing In a high quality purse rather purchasing one from stores such as River Island! (I don't hate River Island - It's just an example)

You honestly pay for what you get!

Are you swayed to buy a Ted Baker purse?

I am currently thinking of purchasing another one of their purses (when their price match includes Ted Baker) and have come up with a shortlist of my favourite ones.
Ted Baker Maggye Matinee Bobble Purse, Coral £70
Ted Baker Lowbow Purse Union Jack, Multi £99
Ted Baker Glenda Daschund Bobble Floral Print Purse, Red £99

What do you think of these?

Would you be interested in buying a Ted Baker purse?

GLOSSYBOX Review: August 2012

This month’s GLOSSYBOX goes global with their “International Superstars” featuring products from all around the world.

I really love this concept as not only does It tie In with the London 2012 Olympics (which are sadly over now :(   Boo) but it also allows subscribers to try different products from other countries and widen our beauty minds. (you know become more cultural and stuff)

So without further ado lets see which of these “International Superstars” takes home the gold! (ahem, yes I am that sad)

My August Box included:

1.Alessansro: Full size £7.85, 10ml (Germany)
2.DHC: Full size £18.50, 200ml (Japan)
3.Broadway Nails: Full size from £7.99, 24 nails (U.S.A)
4.Vera Valenti: RRP £3.85 (Spain)
5.Lipcote: RRP £3.99, 7ml (UK)
6.GLOSSYBOX Lipstick: RRP £9.50, 4g

Two Nails products this month
Alessandro - Pro White
‘Optically brightening effect nail polish with anti-yellowing formula for radiant white and gleaming nails’

My nails easily get stained by nail polishes so i’m excited to try this out! I need to get me some radiance. Once i’ve tried it out i shall report back to you all.

Broadway Nails - imPress Press-On Manicure
‘imPress by Broadway Nails is the revolutionary way to apply polish! Simply peel off, press on, and done!’

I was excited to see press on nails on my card but once I opened the box I was a little disappointed. The colour isn’t something I would ever choose for my nails! (for those wondering I got the shade 170 Velvet Rope) It’s too light for me! I prefer my to have dark purple nail polish so i doubt i will ever use these. However it has made me want to take a trip down to boots and see what other colours they have to offer - seeing as i am lazy and have no patience whatsoever, it seems to be a painless and timesaving way of making your nails look ‘done’ without the effort (according to the packaging these are meant to last ‘up to a week’)

What are your thoughts on Press-On Nails?

DHC - DHC Deep Cleansing Oil
‘This revolutionary water-soluble cleanser is better than any other make-up remover you’ve ever tried’

I haven’t actually tried this yet - I am a tad lazy when It comes to taking my make-up off and just normally just a make-up remover wipe (I’ve run out of my beloved Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish) Although It seems like a product I would use at some point in the near future.

Vera Valenti - L’ombre à Paupère Margarita

‘An eyeshadow palette offering a selection of ten different colours with an applicator included.’

This for me was the most disappointing product in this month’s box.  The colour’s weren’t greatly pigmented (although I am not surprised at it only costs £3.85) and It seems to be an odd and cheap design. I doubt I will get any use of this at all! I don't even think I would ever use green eyeshadow! Not impressed!

Lipcote
‘The original Lipstick Sealer and secret of long lasting, feather fade and water resistant lipstick.

The product made me laugh as soon as a saw it! It’s something my grandma used to use!! Basically It’s a lipstick sealer! You pop it over the top to add some extra lasting power to your lips (obviously) HAHA. I don’t tend to wear lipstick so i’m not sure how much use i’ll get out of it! Nevertheless it’s always a product that good to have on stand-by.

GLOSSYBOX - GLOSSYBOX Lipstick in Glossy Pink
‘Professional beauty lipstick for soft and glamorous lips with a luminous, long-lasting colour.’

Speaking of lipstick’s GLOSSYBOX decided to include their own in this box!
The shade is Glossy Pink and its a lovely raspberry/ rosey colour.
The lipstick has a creamy consistency and (for my lips anyway) is a your lips but pinker colour! It even has the old school lipstick scent which I adore!

Overall I don't really think I am impressed with this box. There was nothing that really stood out to me and It definitely hasn't broadened my beauty mind in terms of "International Superstars". Yet for some reason I never unsubscribe from GLOSSYBOX!
Oh well. What are your thoughts on this months GLOSSYBOX? Or even GLOSSYBOX in general?

If you are interested in joining GLOSSYBOX the go to www.glossybox.co.uk
